    Got my Vieluxe, now what??

Attaching pdf file of owner’s manual. And available online: https://www.libble.eu/weber-vieluxe/online-manual-403117/ Can’t find any mention of the tabs. The hood, or lid as it’s referenced in manual, isn’t mentioned a lot other then 11 warnings to “open the Lid” before lighting. Sheesh

    Got my Vieluxe, now what??

Does anyone know what this tab on the hood is for? There is only ONE tab on left side: Right side of hood has no tab, and there are no weld marks whatsoever to indicate that it was ever there and subsequently broke off. Also, when smoker box lid (located on left side) is open, this tab...

    Got my Vieluxe, now what??

This is the last fix I was able to do. I preferred blue wheels to match the logo, but only red came with ball bearing shafts so I can waltz with the grill:

I believe it’s OEM, it was also included with my grill when I purchased the grill from original owner.

    Got my Vieluxe, now what??

During the initial burnoff, I was disappointed that the Vieluxe reached to only 300 after 23 mins. I soon realized I was reading the Celsius markings: At 650, the FB’s were red hot:

    Help finding grates

I’m going to try working something out with Dave Santana. He isn’t too far away. If anyone is going to put a torch to the grill, it might as well be Dave the man himself.

Congrats Tom!!! I think you can’t truly choose the Vieluxe, it chooses you somehow in a baffling way. Spend any time with it, and you’ll be awed by its the craftsmanship and engineering. If you do end up passing it along, please check buyer’s background and references, go to their address to...

    Help finding grates

He’s just on the other side of the bay from me then. I wonder if he would re-weld the failing grate rails on a Vieluxe: https://tvwbb.com/threads/got-my-vieluxe-now-what.89945/post-1018002

    Got my Vieluxe, now what??

Before closing it up, I took pictures of parts that are usually hidden from view: Behind the rotis: Backside vents: Drip tray handles: Propane tank cabinet bottom (my favorite piece, the unsung underdog): EDIT: forgot to include the black painted part:

It would be ironic if Dave is kind of guy that doesn’t own a grill or likes to grill. Is he in Burlingame?

    Got my Vieluxe, now what??

You’d be surprised to know I paid less for this than what a new e315 costs. It’s a lot of mass and grill though, I’m starting to sense the impracticality of it, like taking a rolls Royce to a drive thru or haul groceries. My daily driver will still be the Genesis.

All the infrared burners I’ve seen flame up this color, I think it’s normal.

    Cutting boards

20 years ago, I lived in a place that had a John Boos table. For a 125 year old company, I was naively unaware of them. They manufacture in Illinois apparently, using domestic hardwood. The Boos table was the centerpiece of the kitchen. Still dream of having a kitchen like that again.

Does anyone know if Dave Santana is a Weber fanatic? Is he a griller? Vegan?

We have liftoff!!! This is the first firing of the burners after the restoration. Before lighting, it was christened appropriately: And then flame on:

Time to stop toying with Genelux what-if scenarios, gotta get it dressed for liftoff tonight:

Oops, I am sorry everyone. I only weighed 2 grates. This is my first 3-grater, I lose track of the third child: Mr. Santana still holds the heavyweight record it seems.
