New Dog Pics - Post Pics Of Your Best Friend!

Love to see traveling dogs! Our fine Dante (now gone) had 30,000 road miles with us all around the US. Tonto has been fro FL to NC, then across to WA state to pick up Icy. I made a window-level platform anchored to a seat belt with a crossing tether line to secure short leashes to their...

    Great tip, thanks!

    Weird and Scary

Some may think this fits the thread title, but it's 95 today, wild humidity and I'm out on the other side of the camera doing what I do.

    GUINNESS-BRAISED BABY BACK RIBS

Yeah, these problems are all too common for us youngsters. Rich, you likely do the same, but I always make sure the doctor I see most (in my case my PCP) always knows what all the others are doing. Even if by phone or online. Mine are all in the same system too (and mostlyknoweac other)...

Sorry to say, but I tend to agree. If you have circumstances like that, it really pays to be attentive and learn something about those circumstances. You practically have to go out of your way to get bitten by a copperhead. Not seeing it in the low light, no wonder it got pissed and lashed...

Good for you if you can stand it. Brrr, shiver! But I understand that not many people share my predilection for just sitting and stewing in really hot, steamy weather. Maybe with a fan, but that's just a refinement. ;)

    Did What I Said I Wouldn't

The freezer looks great! The situation with your dad not so much. Both our fathers died early, but we went through much the same wit our mothers. MIL passed soon after the move, but my Mom said later she was really glad to make that move to a supportive environment. Best of luck to you all.

It is so hard to lose even one -- two so close together is especially bad. You'll know it's time for another when the pain in your heart is overwhelmed by the hole in your life.

    Weird and Scary

I gotta say that nothing scares me more than cold and snow. I lived in the Vermont mountains for two years in early high school. No Way! Afterwards, mid-, windy thirties in Fayetteville, NC, had me swearing I would never again complain about heat. In 60 years I haven't!

    Weird and Scary

Mine was during a week long backpack on the Appalachian Trail the length of the Great Smokies National Park. The Park required that on the AT you use their 3-sided, stone shelters with solid chain link fencing on the 4th side for overnights due to the black bears. (I remember a black bear...

Yeah. I agree. It's hard to change who you are. I'm not phobic about it, but I don't like spiders -- or roaches. But snakes are innocuous to me.

Hey, it my thread and it about the weird and scary. Go!

    Weird and Scary

In the woods, I agree. But we once had an interesting (scary) all-night incident with a black bear in the Smokies that could change your mind. Idiot people caused, of course. And you might want to add skunks in your bunk!

Gorgeous! My first dog at 5 years old was a Shepherd. He was accused of biting my ear, but I cried all the way to the hospital that he was just playing (it was a claw).

    Weird and Scary

I don't understand, but I do know. Lots of folks have this fear of snakes. I always thought they were cool, but not to play with -- or around. This is minor to me (not so much for Sheila) except for the possibility of little dogs getting bitten. Years back, my 60 lb dog got a swollen jaw...

BTW. possible deterrents are Nlan ammonia/water mix sprayed around my miniscule yard or Epsom salt scattered.

Medical, yes. I think you know my train of thought.

Well, congrats, Larry. For us, we went with that 13 cu ft, 6' tall, 2x2' frost-free Hotpoint and are really happy with it. It takes more room than we like and mostly blocks a window side lite, but works great in the corner of our kitchen. Similar to a suggestion above, we kept the bins from...
