I will just leave this here

Only the Silver B models came with the short frame. The Silver C, Gold B&C and Platinum B&C models had the long frame. You could leave of off the extension frames on the left side. But then you loose the top table and the fold up table. You could also leave off the extension frames on the right...

What is your Favorite Vintage Genesis Grill lid color

I had a similar idea. Green for St Paddy's day, Red for Christmas, ... But I just don't have the space to store additional lids. Plus it would have been too much work to swap the handle light each time I swap a lid.

What is your Favorite Vintage Genesis Grill lid color

What is your Favorite Vintage Genesis Grill lid color

I had them almost all: SS, Black, Black Skyline, Red, Maroon, Green, Blue, Brown... Too many to choose from and too many to keep. I finally decided on Blue. Maroon would be my 2nd choice and Red the 3rd.

And almost in my neighborhood. I could add a third Platinum to my other two. :ROFLMAO: But I don't have the room. I leave that one for someone else.

Another restoration but not a Weber

I recently discovered the fun of upcycling old stuff. Found a 1925 wardrobe steamer trunk in a thrift store a few years ago. I finally got around to finish it. I converted it into a wine bar and liquor cabinet.

At VERY long, long last...My Skyline Dream is a reality!

Same here. The only "premium" feature which I was always able to sell was stainless steel. I always sold grills with SS lids much faster than grills with black or colored lids. And if the grills had a closed cabinet with SS doors it was even better. And accessories like rotisseries are not in...

At VERY long, long last...My Skyline Dream is a reality!

Yes it took me while to sell. No premium price either. It was sold to another "Boomer" who bought it because he had another Weber in the past.

At VERY long, long last...My Skyline Dream is a reality!

Jon's design with the black wood inspired me for my restoration. I used cedar and stained it black. But I left off the side burner and put a table instead. I also used a wire rack at the bottom which I had left over from another grill. Painting these wood slats is just a lot of work. Also I did...

I will just leave this here

Another sea of cheap SS grills at a local HW Store. That truck to the left was just getting loaded with one.

What does your wife know about your grill rehabbing hobby?

My wife just laughed about it. She was totally ok with it since it financed my personal grills and other stuff. And when I had one ready to go she even said: It looks awesome, you really want to sell it? But I stopped doing grills last year since it was too time consuming and because the old...

    Facebook find.... need thermometer bezel

According to grillparts the Bezel is still available. https://www.grillparts.com/weber/2011_genesis_300.asp?product_id=67717 And yes these are great grill as long as the cabinet is not rusted. I got one about two years ago for $60. Was in great shape. Only dusty and inhabited by rodents as it...

Genesis E-310 eroding lid (Underside layer)

You can call Weber but don't be too optimistic. As Bruce stated the warranty only applies to the initial owner of the grill and is not nontransferable to subsequent owners. On top of that Weber discontinued their generous warranty with the introduction of these E-xxx and S-xxx Genesis models. If...

    Enclosing a Genesis Silver B

The closed cabinet frames have always been a bit higher than the open cart frames. This is why I at 6'4" actually prefer the closed cabinet grills. But otherwise you can swap parts back and forth. Meaning out of these two you can make a great grill.

Question to all the refurbishing folks

I know a lot of you folks refurbish not just grills but also lots other stuff from appliances to funiture. How do you market your stuff? Do you just post on the common classifieds such as Craigslist, FB marketplace, Offerup, Nextdoor, ..... or do you have any other strategies? I am just working...

Cheap Viking in the DFW area

Looks like an older model but the new ones sell for several thousand. No pictures from the inside and one knob missing. But $50 might be a good deal I guess...

    Enclosing a Genesis Silver B

Change to grilling veggies? Just kidding. You can always use plywood and frabricate something. But it needs to be easy removable to clean the pan. But I would actually recommend finding a closed cabinet version of the Silver B. Used ones can be found sometimes for as low as you would pay for all...

Genesis Platinum, is this the one we all hear about?

I have another old Genesis 3 frame which we use as outdoor work bench table. These old Weber frames are great as bench tables.

Genesis Platinum, is this the one we all hear about?

These are mine. The grill is a Frankengrill and consists of parts of at least 4 different grills. The firebox is the standard 5 burner box. The prep table is just the chassis of a Platinum with a solid wood counter top.
