I will just leave this here

Here is a very well used Napoleon Rouge 425 for $50. Looks like no rust but lots and lots of cleaning required. And maybe a new sear burner...

    What color is this lid?

I was fooled once as well. The reflection from the sky in the photo made it look like a blue lid and boy was I disappointed when I showed up and saw the black lid. Well I bought it anyhow since it was an almost unused Silver C.

    How far will you go?

I never went that far for a grill. I did about a 150-200 miles roundrip once with a Uhaul trailer to pick up several grills. But otherwise all of them have been within 30-40 miles. However I did a 600 miles roadtrip a few weeks ago to buy a used bicycle.

Afterburner Aftermarket Infrared Burner for Genesis II, so far it's HOT!

Yes I don't have a Genesis II either and personally would not use that sear burner that much anyhow. For the very few times I want to sear a steak I am using a cast iron pan over charcoal.

Afterburner Aftermarket Infrared Burner for Genesis II, so far it's HOT!

I just looked at their website and it is horrible. Their marketing really sucks. Basically just empty websites.

Help finding NEW temperature control shafts for Older Genesis

I assume he wants to replace the steel control panel with wood panel. If this is 3/4" wood the stems of the original gas knobs are too short to reach down to the valve stem. But the E-3xx knobs have a longer stem. I actually built one grill where I used stems from the E-3xx knobs in combination...

Help finding NEW temperature control shafts for Older Genesis

These valve stems are part of the valve and there are no longer ones available. Meaning you cannot not buy aftermarket valves with longer stems. At least I am not aware of it. You might to look into using knobs with longer plastic stems. The knobs from the later E-3xx series have long stems to...

So this is the new Genesis

I guess you are right. I have not paid much attention to new grill prices in the recent year and have not factored in inflation. My last new Weber was a Genesis Silver B which I purchased new in 2006 for $350 which would be equal to about $485 today. Ever since I only cobbled up used grills. I...

What model Q is a decent for a college age kid ?

I also suggest the Q-1200. This has become my go-to gas grill for our family of 4. I use it more often than my Genesis. I found mine cheap as a used grill. I would look out for used ones on CL, FB marketplace, .... I paid $70 for mine which was second hand but never used. I also got a new...

So this is the new Genesis

Prices have gone up quite a bit on these new grills. $900 plus tax for the cheapest. That is a lot of money for a 3 burner gas grill. At least in my view. I am really happy with my old cobbled together Genesis Platinum which should last many more years.

    Char Q

The one piece grates of the first gen Q100 or Q140 also fit as a charcoal grate inside the CharQ. But they are hard to find as well since they were replaced by two piece grates at some point.

    A "dumpster" Q1200

Official name of the color was Fuchsia. I love mine. It actually is my favorite color of the Q.

    Converting Weber Q to charcoal

I would not recommend it either. You can not regulate the airflow on the gas grill lid and the bottom half. I bought a CharQ a few years go but I was not impressed with it and sold it again. The kettle is a better choice in my opinion.

    BROWNIE

Instead of z-bars you could use wood slats on top of the frame with cross connects at the bottom. I have done this on a few grills like on this top shelf. I am not a big fan of the z-bars since they will scratch when you slide items across the shelves and potentially rust again.

Average Used/Restored Grill Prices - Valuations Guide

Here the same. In average I got about $150 - $300 for a grill. Mostly around $200-$250. In my neck of the woods people are looking for modern looking SS grills. I had a hard time selling any of the old style grills with wood or colored lids. A Genesis with SS lid and SS cabinet was easier to...

    OCTOBERFEST.......

Being a German household we have German food quite a lot. And I am not talking about Brats or Eisbein (pig knuckles). And since we are not from Bavaria either we never felt the urge to celebrate it. And by the way the German Oktoberfest in Muenchen has been cancelled again for the 2nd time...
