Rosh Hashanah 2023 - it’s about to get real

I emailed my sister-in-law and her husband Svi asking if wishing them a Happy Rash Hashanah was the appropriate note for this weekend. I thought some reading this would be interested in her reply: "Yes Thank you - for year 5784"

Rosh Hashanah 2023 - it’s about to get real

Hey! I thought you said that thin edge was for chili! Oh well -- to late.

Colorado > Silverton: Thee Pits Again BBQ & More

Hope you also enjoyed the train ride. Quite an area, isn't it. One of my favorite anywhere -- hope to get back sometime. Now I have two places to find! Thanks!

    Seeking Handgun Insight

One important concern that was only mentioned in passing above, is "where will your shots end up"? As a wood carver, a critical concern for my personal safety is "where will the blade go next"? Using a weapon isn't a matter of simple point and shoot no matter how much training and experience...

Cooked a little bit of everything today

Now, just packing it into a Subaru was a master stroke! 🥴

    Superb Day!

Blackened fish tacos -- sounds like a great idea. And when I do, I'll post somewhere. :D

Cooked a little bit of everything today

"went to the store hungry" 🤣 That'll do it! But what an absolutely fabulous cook! I'm not hungry but I'm hungry... Do keep us abreast of your thoughts about the new machine.

    Superb Day!

SO I got delayed a bit and temps are back up into the 90s with humidity climbing. Summer in these parts typically goes on into mid-Sept or later. But did fix the blackened fish per @MartinB AND got the proof. They were absolutely wonderful -- just what I've been trying to achieve for so...

    Jimmy Buffet

He wrote four books. If you have the chance, read them. It's not just the story, it's the philosopy. Thanks to Jimmy Buffett, among so many other things, i got to know and appreciate Bob Marley. SO much under the hood.

    Cajun Seasoning

It is interesting that most (all?) Of these are just variations of proportions. Mine adds stuff, but same concept. Cajun spices have been around a long time. Adapt and enjoy! I almost hate to say it, but most spice mixtures are all variations with sometimes local additions. Makes the world...

    New Stuff for Me

Man, you are living in paradise! Sorry @Joan , you have competition. And then there's Sheila -- my wife of 54 years who, despite all my flaws...

    Jimmy Buffet

I will add that he was much copied -- maybe better to say he initiated a trend that still continues.

    Cajun Seasoning

I don't know how i missed this thread! I started years back with Emeril's Creole Spice which I've continued to develop over time. I deliberately cut back on the amount of salt Emeril called for and increased/added various elements. Creole Seasoning • 3 tbs paprika • 2 tbs Kosher salt • 2 tbs...

    New Stuff for Me

It's one of my easiest preps now, Rich -- I've done them so often. I try to keep jalapenos always on hand and usually make up at least 6 (12 poppers) to have numerous smaller cooks ready in the fridge. Takes maybe 15-20 minutes to prep that many.

    Jimmy Buffet

This one hits me really hard. I was in my early 20s when I first heard Jimmy Buffett and later became a dedicated fan after listening to the Changes in Latitudes album in depth with a friend. That was when I began really listening to his poetry and melodies. I spent some hours yesterday with...
