Repair or replacement of Weber Q2200 igniter

Ok, probably not too relevant nor very popular comment, but in my 2011 Genesis, the igniter quit while under warranty about 7-8 years ago. Weber sent a new one and it lasted even less time. For both I had cleaned the contacts and replace the battery. Flickered on and off over time -- but no...

Another "grill too close to the house fire"

Too many people just don't understand 1) radiative heat and 2) don't walk away from the fire next to your house. Our HOA goes too far the other way; no grill closer than 10 feet from any house. Absurd! To start, no one pays attention ridiculous rules (the HOA blames it on the insurance...

Do find out how loud that alarm is. Ours is barely audible.

    Weird and Scary

😄 I have such great memories of the Smokies-- I'm jealous! Though I do have to admit that at least 3 of my scariest events (the skunks are not one, that's just terrible smell). Let's see: all night bear encounter (including snarling 10 feet directly over my head), a log foot "bridge" falling...

Yes. For me, happiness is Tonto. But I'll never get over Dante.

New Dog Pics - Post Pics Of Your Best Friend!

I had a similar experience at 5 (see above), but that's not really what I'm talking about. I don't know if you've ever heard the term "whirling dervish" or actually seen one. That is an approximation of a what a dog can do, but one is a dance, the other can have deadly intent. Or in the case...

Rule of Thumb for Drip Pans?

If it's equipped with drip pans, USE THEM! Flavorizor bars can never be counted on to handle all drippings let alone possible heavy droppings. My Genesis has flavorizor bars and heat shields over the drip pan. No way would I consider ever running without the drip pan.

    My new find, Genesis 5

Tremendous find! I like your idea to fitting out top-of-line. It deserves such treatment. Glorious condition! You don't find treasures like that often. Do you think it was used much, or just occasional?

    Santorini’s beautiful sunrise

Absolutely wonderful pics! Congratulations on being able to have such a marvelous vacation! My wife will be jealous when I show her the pics. Especially the rock (geology major).

I couldn't resist showing this pic. It's kind of difficult to tell that it's not road kill. But the reality is that it's Tonto, my very special best friend.

New Dog Pics - Post Pics Of Your Best Friend!

Really impressive -- and fits the "scary" title. Most people absolutely don't understand what a dog is capable of. I had an encounter once that was unbelievable and terrifying. The instantaneous ability of a dog to respond aggressively can't truly be understood unless you experience it...

@Rich Dahl Yes. Mine are nearby but only interested in results. At least they like it. It's a little strange the since my 20 yr old likes kitchen cooking. But then his mom has taken gourmet classes...

Lots to be proud of there! Given their size, I assume you have them well trained. I always was careful to train my large dogs (especially the 110 lb Malemute), but have gotten kind of slack with the little dogs. They still obey, but on far fewer commands. And I truly feel sorry for my wife...

    Deck demo and new patio.

Wow! Bad luck with that deck! We had ours with built-in benches for 30 years, used good stains every 5-7 years and really never had any of the difficulties you had despite being in the sun on the south side. I also would take belt sander to the rail tops every 10 years or so before...

    Weird and Scary

Over the top of the fan, you can see a corner of the house and 11 ft beyond, another wall. The little court yard is around there. You can also see there the top of a bare 4x4 post which is where I'm going to hang my grill cabinet when I get it refinished (now finally top priority). Here...
