Replacement parts should be easy to come by for your grill and the one for sale to but I'd stick with your 07 if it still works.

I thought that the stainless was only on the Genesis 05 Platinum C (the frame anyways)...? I know the 05 Summit Platimum is all stainless. Is there a stainless Genesis that was built in the late 90s? If so then I'd really like to see a pic of it.

Yup, I like that you can drop a 13 bar box on those kind of grills. I also like those casters as they are more durable than the standard ones.

Ditto on the sliding grease tray, that part is no longer available (OEM or third party) and you'll eventually have to change it out...later rather than sooner though.

Shoot, with your metal shop skills I wonder if you could make the sliding drip tray for the Genesis 1000 out of SS and sell them? That item is hard to come by nowadays and will only get harder. Here is a link to it if you're up for it...
