    Rit Dye Method?

My next question is...what models and years did weber use the durawood? I have a handful of Genesis grills, none have the durawood, they are all real wood either stained or painted.

    Rit Dye Method?

What exactly is durawood? Is it a plastic compound? I don't have any so I can't experiment.

    Weber Genesis 1000 Restore Project

Yes, I got my inspiration from Branden regarding tank scale rehab. You do have to remove the rivets, I use a multitool (oscillating blade) to cut off the rivet and then a nail set to punch it out. Once that is done, it is easy to disassemble the scale in to its component parts. All the parts...

2001 Silver C rehab/ how to ( or how not to) dye plastic grill parts

Hi Rio If you go to the Rit Dyemore website, they will give you a color formula dye chart. I think the one that I used for the maroon accents on that grill was called "Red Dusk". It was a combination of three different Dyemore colors 1⁄2 Cups Racing Red 1⁄2 Cup Super Pink 1⁄4 Cup Apricot...

    Rit Dye Method?

I have done the Rit dye for the control knobs. https://tvwbb.com/threads/2001-silver-c-rehab-how-to-or-how-not-to-dye-plastic-grill-parts.82222/post-909057 I think that I just followed the directions on the bottle. Make sure you use the Dyemore product which is designed for synthetic products...

Can anyone ID this Weber for me?

Looks like a Genesis 1100 to me. Check out this thread in the Gas Grill forum: https://tvwbb.com/threads/what-year-is-the-weber.82660/post-913757 Did you check under the control panel for a serial number sticker?

Looking for a couple of small parts

I am looking for the internal spring and the small threaded spring attachment that go inside one of the old style tank scales. I am currently working on a Genesis 1000 rehab and realized that my tank scale is missing there two parts. A wing nut attaches on the other end of this piece on the...

Sandblasting the fire box and end caps for $75

I get inside and outside firebox and end caps blasted for a total of 30 bucks. Sometimes I’ll take more than one firebox, but not always, but I always specify that I am in no hurry and I think, like others have said, he just uses iit as a filler project.

    Genesis 1100 rehab

I think the biggest safety issue is not to use open flame source to heat the water/acetone mixture. I am not disagreeing with the idea that its addition may be negligible. But if safely done, I don't see the harm. I wonder who came up with the idea anyway? Someone needs to do a scientific...

    Genesis 1100 rehab

Brian, I have used the dye for the knobs and rocker switches, the plastic handle of a Silver C and the plastic side ends of a Silver C, all with great success. I guess the acetone addition remains controversial. I used it, not knowing if it was necessary, but I was careful. I added it to the...
