HOW TO: Weber Q1xx and Q2xx Regulator Delete

Sir, can I ask you for a recommendation, preferably one with 1/4" NPT inlet and outlet? I just bought one of the GasSaf "low pressure" hose & regulator combos off Amazon, and decided to check the output. Admittedly, I only have a 0-10 WC gauge, but it pegged it upon screwing in a 1" bottle...

    Finally joined the Q-1200 crowd,,,,,

Bought a used Q-1200 off of FB Marketplace, and already started the process of going thru the regulator delete conversion. Suffers from the typical low heat w/a 1# bottle, so for kicks I removed the regulator & valve assembly and measured the diameter of the orifice, the smallest drill I have is...

    Why All The Temp Issues?

I guess I picked the wrong place to look for help with making a grill perform like it should. 3 years old, not a conversion, and neither Weber nor my NG utility has a solution for a problem that has existed since new. Goodbye all. TJH

2018-ish Genesis II E-210 NG will not get hot

Sorry, but I have to retract my recommendation of this vendor. After very close examination, the thread pitch is wrong, not just the outside diameter. This ordeal would have been a lot easier if Weber would just sell these, without making me purchase the entire manifold assembly. TJH

I would say that the flame is about a 1/2" taller than it was originally. Image 0918 is with a .065" orifice, 0919 is with a .0625". I think I'm going back to the .0625's, I like the way it ignites a little better, not as aggressive a "woooosh". TJH

2018-ish Genesis II E-210 NG will not get hot

The good news is, I finally got Nicors' attention (NG Utility), they stopped by last evening to talk about my concern. The Tech's position is that anything from 6" to 6.5" WC is acceptable to them, so they will not be adjusting the regulator. This morning I drilled the orifices out to .065"...

Why is it so hard to get OEM Weber parts for a 3 y/o grill?

Obviously, having a body in a freezer is not illegal,,,, https://www.foxla.com/news/body-of-retired-lasd-detective-found-in-freezer-in-garage-of-riverside-home TJH

2018-ish Genesis II E-210 NG will not get hot

I actually mentioned that to the rep at Weber, and asked him to confirm that the larger grills (4+ burners) come with a regulator, and drop the pressure down to 3.5 or 4" and use larger orifices. If I get a little more improvement with the next step at .065", I'll call it good and get back to...

I also used a Yellow Jacket 0-15" WC kit, it was within a tenth of the other gauge. I took both gauges to a house with a Weber quick disconnect for their Spirit BBQ, and both read right at 7". The Yellow Jacket kit I used was the same one my friend was going to send me. Feel free to keep...

2018-ish Genesis II E-210 NG will not get hot

Bruce, I've tried to get my NG supplier to correct the low-pressure problem, they refuse to address it. The good news is, I'm working under the guidance of a 30+ year Field Service Tech from the NG supplier in the Twin Cities, who is making sure I make smart, calculated changes. If all else...

Why is it so hard to get OEM Weber parts for a 3 y/o grill?

Yes. The gas company refuses to come out and address the low-pressure issue.

2018-ish Genesis II E-210 NG will not get hot

An update: As far as I can tell, the original jets were marked 147, if that stands for 1.47mm (.0578") it seems right, since a # 54 (.055") drill was loose, and a #53 (.0595") drill would not fit the hole. I have now installed a set of aftermarket jets opened-up to 1/16" (.0625"), and see a...

Why is it so hard to get OEM Weber parts for a 3 y/o grill?

Just had a good conversation w/Weber, and while they are sympathetic to my problem, they do not have a solution to my low incoming pressure problem, and do not have a part # for just the orifice that I am going to try and modify. They'll sell me an entire manifold assembly for $60+, but not...

Why is it so hard to get OEM Weber parts for a 3 y/o grill?

I'll apologize up-front for the rant,,,,, I decided to take the advice given in my E-210 NG thread, and order a new set of orifice's to adjust and make up for the low pressure provided by my NG supplier. Shopping at one of the recommended online vendors shown in this forum, I order and receive...
