Well here is my first turkey of the holiday. 16lbs, brined about 12 hours, dry rub with a 2 hour rest. Hickory pellets in a smoker tube. The cooker is electric.
Done while at the movies. Though for some reason my new set point didn't take when it hit my probe high. So overshot a little...
I haven't fired up the HeaterMeter in quite a while. I am controlling an electric smoker using an SSR. When I fired things up for the day my GFCI was tripped. It appears my SSR was toast. Luckily I had replacement parts. Best I can tell, my bonding of the the SSR to the metal case that it is...

I would suggest adjusting the LCD pot. I had a similar "problem". I tested the board out using the RPi micro USB and adjusted the LCD pot to nice and viewable. When I switched to powering directly from the HM, the screen was blank(ish). I too thought I had fried something until I adjust the...
Dale,
You will need to use a text editor to edit the msmtprc file which is located in the /etc folder. The only editor that I believe is included with the HM is vi (a stripped down version at that). I am not going to try to give you a vi tutorial. Check out this one...
