Wow, that sounds like a great adventure, great food and great music! There was a small island not too far from town we used to camp on every now and then. We'd fish all day and eat all night. It was always a good time but doesn't sound nearly as good as your experience!

I've been away for a while so sorry for the late response. I fill my smoke box with chips and put it off to the side of the burner so it is barely over the flame. If you put it on top of the burner they will burn up and create dirty smoke. I can get thin blue smoke for around 5 hours this way...

I have several smokey Joe's so it can go either way. Your post confuses me as well.

Little thing works great. Cooked a leg quarter on it yesterday with propane just to see. Cooked 4 today over some jealous Devil xl charcoal briquettes

Thanks. This is my first gasser as well. I will say I can get 4 hrs of flavor from that little box if you place it in the right area. Thin blue smoke. The trick is not place it directly on the burner. Even after the tbs subsides, you can still smell the aroma from the chips throughout the whole...

Bought this burner off Amazon over a year ago and never really used it. I also had a spare smokey Joe bottom so I combined the two to make a propane mini. It will run for 10, yes 10, hours on a 1 lb propane bottle low and slow.
