I located the problem. Apparently I had not shut the side burner off all of the way. With the cover on it closed, i did not even think to check it.

Has anybody had problems with the gas reduction safety feature on a Weber LP grill. I have a new 470 and of the eight times I have tried to light it the gas reduction safety feature has kicked in six of them. I went over the lighting instructions in the manual and have called Weber to walk me...
