Actually, I wouldn’t want to seal that up. I think it’s more for draining any water that gets into the smoker. Should I be closing the top lid partially like I’ve read in other channels, or leaving it wide open? It wide open right now.

Yeah, they are closed. This being a new model WSM 22, the Lavalock kit didn’t need to be installed at the base, since there’s no horizontal surface (it just kinda fits in there until the bulging lip makes contact). I’m getting a small bit of leakage there, but a good amount from the door. I...

Second cook with the WSM. Probably need to tune the PID but I honestly don’t know where to start. I have the seal around the lid base, and on the door, but still have trouble sometimes with getting down to 235. Not sure what caused that temperature rise, since I was not home when it happened...

    WSM 22" Adapt-A-Damper Mounting Tips

Yeah i actually opened the other two vents and it was able to pull itself up pretty nicely. Was going to just play with it, but once i got it up to 325, I threw a spatchcocked chicken on there and it cooked great. Nice to finally have all this room and not have to sacrifice half of my kettle...

    WSM 22" Adapt-A-Damper Mounting Tips

GSpinelli, Are you running the 22” WSM? My old method of just throwing a Weber paraffin starter on unlit coals, and letting the fan bring it up to temp in a 22” kettle seems to be struggling to do that in a WSM 22. I’ll probably jump start it with pre-lit coals next time, but I was wondering...

    WSM 22" Adapt-A-Damper Mounting Tips

Yeah that wasn't my WSM, that was my Weber 22" Kettle grill. I had the bare fan barely touching the cat bowl for the last few years with no problems. Maybe the addition of the pipe helped transfer heat to the plastic. Is that PLA or ABS that's used in the kit on the site? Sending you an...

    WSM 22" Adapt-A-Damper Mounting Tips

Hi all, While I waited on my new WSM 22" to arrive, I decided to order an adapt-o-damper from the heater meter store and try it out on my Webber Kettle that I had used for years with a HeaterMeter 3. I used to used to attach the fan to a Walmart dog bowl with some wire. It worked great until...

    Thermocouple mount preference

Hi all, Been using the HeaterMeter 4.0 for years now and love it. Just decided to upgrade to the 4.3 with thermocouple and am trying to decide how I'll mount and place the thermocouple. Right now I'm using a Webber 22" Kettle Grill, and I traditionally inserted my Maeverick thermistor...

HM version 4 Rpi 3d print case

Yeah I tried logging in, but I just get stuck in an infinite loop of Script Errors in the web browser. I can't log in. That was with IE 11 at least. Inventer fusion Beta? Or the latest version?

HM version 4 Rpi 3d print case

If I missed it, I apologize, but I can't seem to find the stl files for the 4.0 case for the Raspberry Pi A model. I know they are in the dwg and the .123d , but I have been having tons of problems trying to get it to export correctly. .123d file will only open in the beta version, but I can't...

    HeaterMeter v4.1 PCB now available

Is there a way to set audible alarms? When I'm using the HM inside, I'd like it to audibly alert me that something in the oven is done (to temp). I only saw web options for email/SMS. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.
