Have an Auber ATC on the way, how did you all mount it to a kettle with one touch?

Auber on kettle I mounted mine by drilling a hole right under the lower charcoal rack opposite the charcoal stack ot slow n sear. Seems to work for me.

Need a sanity check on my schematic.

wiring I don't have this setup but I use the Auber smoker packaged unit. My understanding is that the ssr output is a switched open/closed contact. If you connect the 12v+ to the fan then you need to switch the 12v- with the ssr contact output. Don't run the 12v+ to #2 terminal. Wiring 12v- to...

    Kettle with Smokenator and PartyQ

I have a Smokenator and use a Auber unit. It works good for me. I drilled the mounting hole just under the charcoal grate. You cover the grate with foil and the air is diverted straight to the bottom of the Smokenator.

    Just got my Auber ATC

I mounted my Auber on my 22.5 kettle (Performer). I drilled a 3/4" hole below the coal grill opposite the fire. The spring clips will easily grab this hole and seat the fan. The OT grills don't have any openings for you to use. I can easily get 350F control.

temperatuire control of vents on kettle

I normally set my Performer with the top vent full open and regulate with the bottom vent. I learned this way from a previous smoker pit. the reasoning is that throttling the top vent can cause stale smoke or recirculating internally. What is your method of controlling temperature and why? Does...

    new Auber controller

I just received my Auber 1614 package for my Performer. I tested it cooking some pork steaks to see what the temperature range it could handle. Using some Kingsford, I was able to control anywhere from 275 to 340 with no real problem with adequate coal. I was concerned that the 6.5cfm blower was...

PartyQ or Auber for Weber kettle 22.5

I would like to add ATC to my 22.5 kettle (Performer). Is the PartyQ any value with the batteries assuminmg I am okay with tending to the batteries. Or does the Auber unit provide any advantages since they are very close in price ~ $130 -140 range.

    BBQ Guru...

I have a DigiQ and has worked very well. If y ou don't need the food probe to control the pit then I would look at their new PartyQ model. It is battery operated (4 AA cells) for about $130. Seems like a good tool.
