LM, I know you were addressing Keith, but just another data point: I have an Ode and and Ode 2; one kinda 'thunk's off and the other is more of a 'click' - but both make a noise at that shutdown moment. I'm *guessing* it's a relay in there firing, but neither are that loud, nor have the noises...
