    New Hopper Ramp

I am doing my first long cook on the smoke fire it has the guard and no auger ramp. I hope it works out, don't want any flameouts.

What changed with a pellet grill?

The only real change is spritz every 30 minutes to an hour to get more smoke into the food. You will notice that the smoke flavor is more subdued on a pellet grill. It will take a few cooks to get used to not tasting charcoal overtones. However blind tests most people prefer the pellet grill...

    Make Weber Connect Better

I think the weber connect app would look 100000x better if it would graph your cook session. Just my 2 cents

Well, at least it will be cheaper to sear on a gas grill, than a pellet grill. I have a gas sear burner it costs about a buck to sear 5 steaks on it the pellet grill costs about two bucks to do the same.

Smoke fire eats pellets also like a hungry coyote no wait a starving coyote on a sear temperature. Any sear you do will eat pellets, gas will give much better efficiency at higher temps, in my experience.

Now that the Smokefire is out...

Smokefire versus the master built gravity? Yeah look at tredkill BBQ on youtube. He had a smokefire replaced it with a masterbuilt gravity then replaced it with another smokefire. Take what you want from it but I think the smokefire is about an order of magnitude better than the masterbuilt...

    SmokeFire vs Traeger Pellet Grill

I don't know if the smoke fire algorithm is the winner here. I think the grill design is what you need to look at. First, the Smokefire employs a chute pellet feed system. This allows the fan to run at slower speeds without causing an auger fire. The Traeger cannot slow down the fan speed too...

    New EX6 Owner

I only had one flameout all stock no replacement auger or anything. What pellets are you using the weber pellets are smaller in diameter, so that could cause you an issue. It's a great grill I have had only two issues with the grill so far. A blown fuse and one flameout, but I was in the smoke...

    Power Cord Management

Yeah I keep the cord in a loop then connect a heavy gauge extension to it. Handy doing it this way keeps the smokefire cord nice and tidy.

    Firmware 4042 Update

What I have noticed with the new firmware is that it doesn't overshoot the temps as much. Also in shutdown, it doesn't reverse the pellets, as there are now always some pellets to be feed to the chute after shutdown. I think that keeps the auger from grinding pellets trying to reverse feed...

Anyone know, or think, there will be a Smokefire ver2?

What is Weber going to do for a revision 2? Yes, they have made some changes in the hardware, but my gut feeling is that the software was more of an issue than the hardware. I don't know when mine was built but I have only had minor problems with the grill so far, and I have at least 60+ hours...

    What Brand of Pellets?

I am using the B&B competition pellets, most of the pellets I have been using are the Weber smoke fire competition. The B&B seems to work great only have about 20lbs thru the Smokefire. The Weber Smokefire competition blend I have about 140lbs of those burned. The B&B are bigger pellets but they...

Anyone know, or think, there will be a Smokefire ver2?

I just turned on the switch I checked for shorts, I didn't find any checked the wiring. I don't have any answers, just replaced the fuse, and it's still going strong. I do not foil the bottom due to the high temperatures that the grill experiences.

The question I am doing a brisket tomorrow for work should I put it on the smoke fire or my pit boss modified with my very own homegrown pellet master controller. Here are the issues the smoke fire has a pellet bridging issue. The pellet master after 12 hours will cause auger fires. I can...

On my Kamado Joe, I have a charcoal temperature controller so it doesn't ever dip on temps unless there is no more charcoal left to burn. My problem with my Kamado is that it will not snap from one temperature setting to another. Even with a temperature controller, it is like a battleship it...
