There's a new restaurant in town, The Annapolis Smokehouse and Tavern. It's located in the Hillsmere Shopping Center on Bay Ridge Ave. in East Annapolis. I've had dinner there twice in the last two weeks. Once, I had the pulled pork, and tonight, it was their brisket. Both times, it was awesome. They use pecan as their smoking wood.
I spoke with the pit master on our first visit. He told me he had taken Myron Mixon's class and that he is following what he learned. I've had Myron's brisket; it was the best! I suggest that the Annapolis Smokehouse sure is a good second. It's interesting when I asked the pit master if he was going to compete, he said no. His aim is to just have a good restaurant.
