Competition entry fees.

Was wondering what the price of entry fees for KCBs comps was across the country. The Murphysboro Il contest is $250 for all four meats. What is it in your neck of the woods?

Darrell, welcome to the forum. In northern Calif $250 is the average for early entry. Usually going up $25-$50 for late entry. I have searched a lot of out of state comps and I woulod venture to say tha $250 is pretty much the going rate for single 4 meat KCBS comps. There are the occasional 2 day comps with 2 separate judgings and with these you usually get a discount for 2.

Mark's numbers are accurate for the southeast also. The most expensive I've seen so far have been $300 but those are usually the really big ones that have been around a while. A first time contest charging that type of $$$$ is either not being run right or they are out to make a bigger profit.
