Another knife storage option

I got this from my bro-in-law who taught culninary in high scheel for many years. A simple sleeve consisting of several layers of newspaper will protect knife blades in a drawer nearly as good as a store-bought sleeve. The plus is that you can make any size/shape required and the price is, well, you can't beat free. When it becomes ratty, just make a new one. I've been keeping mine this way for years and have yet to replace one.

Before I got my case for the knives I travel with I used to do just that. Chrap, to be sure, and individual cases for Japanese blades are nearly impossible to find.
