Whole brisket north of Baltimore?

I've been interested in trying brisket for the first time, so it's only natural to try and get a packer so I can also try my hand at these burnt ends I read so much about.

I didn't see any at BJs, and I'll be checking Costco tonight. My mom mentioned a place called Amrein Foods on Pulaski Hwy that supplies food in bulk to all local restaurants, so I might check there as well.

Anyone out there from this area get packer briskets? If so, where?

For those of you who may be interested in this topic, but had no answer after contacting a local barbecue team they referred me to http://www.galvinell.com/ which looks pretty friggin' sweet!

I definitely plan on paying them a visit in the very near future!

Thanks for the link! I live just south of Baltimore and was looking for brisket as well. Don't know when I'll try my first one, but I appreciate the link on where to get a packer.

Mike,

You are very close to a great butcher where I get my packers.....Treuth's. They are in Ellicott City/Catonsville area on Oella Ave. Here is their website:

I would definitely check them out. The cows are right out back!

I have spoken with them a few times when looking for quality beef ribs, but have never been there. Might have to check them out first since they are so much closer. Thanks for the reminder.
