Top Vent Tight

Morning

Did a few cooks this weekend on the new Performer and the top vent is a bit tight now. Takes a bit of effort to spin it either way. I suppose tight is better than loose but still it seems tight to the point where it's going to start removing my nice "crimson" colour over time.

I read somewhere a little shot of WD40. Anyone had this and have a fix to offer? Thanks.

I would use vegetable oil (or quick shot of PAM).
Put a few drop near the rivet and work it in.

I'm with Joe, I wouldn't put a petroleum based product on there. Also I'm guessing you're talking when it's cold? Mine does the same but once the "gunk" gets warmed up the vent will turn easily.

Thanks boys.......a little shot of Pam before I grilled some Bambi steaks tonight and it was great. Even now that it's cool it's moving better
