Todays pork butt

I have some friends coming over today to help me move some heavy items so I figured I’d at least cook for them and send them home with some food.
I started this at 5:35 this morning so we wouldn’t have to wait late into the day for it.
It’s just under 9-1/2 lbs. I’m cooking it at 275 with no wind and it’s about 65f outside so I figure 6 maybe 7 hours buttttttt we shall see 🤷‍♂️.
I just love the smell of BBQ floating around my place.
The breeze drafts right to my neighbors house so I know I’m just torturing him :).

Looking really good and there is that picture again.

Pro Tip: You probably already know this but you can cut that into 2 or 3 pieces vey easily and there is not any repercussions that I can think of.
I do it all the time, really cuts back on the time it spends on the smoker and you can still get amazing bark out of it.
You actually end up with more bark due to the increased surface area exposed to the heat.....more..............yum yum's.

Well the pork butt took 9 hours and is now resting.
It took a little bit more than an hour per pound for the cook under these conditions.
Average temp was 275f and the weather is/was perfect.

I love our union Bruno.
It don’t get much better than this and I’m just one of many.
Hope to meet up with you at the retirement events soon.
