The $1 Smokey Joe Special

Out taking a walk with the family, and looked at rummage sale. For sale were two smokey joes that were being sold for $1 a piece. I picked the nicer of the two. Date code shows 1996. Needs to be cleaned up but all in all pretty good shape!

I feel like I got ripped off LOL. I paid $2, for an older model with the 2 horizontal side intake vent holes that are kinda useless. Had to mod mine installed a WSM intake vent cover, works a liilte better now.

For a buck a piece, I would have bought both and made the not nicer of the two into a mini-WSM.

I was kinda thinkin about something like that, but I figured why not let someone else get a great deal. The one I didnt get was still in pretty good shape, looks like maybe it sat in storage a little longer.

i saw one today for 3. the handle was in good shape too.

but... my wife was in no mood to allow it, and i was really unhappy about the sale. (the ad stated "HUGE BARN SALE" and "25 years worth of collection" and it was really barely enough to fill a garage)
