Split Ribs? What are these things I bought?

I was at a local big box grocer (Meijer) and they had Baby Backs for 2.99/lb and I put a few slabs in the cart. HOWEVER, they had something else for .99/lb called split ribs that looks like a rib section of some kind, with a loin attached. Hmm.

Anyone ever see something like that? How would you go about barbqueing it??

Almost sounds like pork chops. I bought some beef ribs once at .99/lb and they had absolutely no meat on top with barely a little meat between the ribs. Since then, I've been very wary of .99/lb ribs. Oh, and it helps to closely examine before you buy (lesson learned).

I've never seen "split ribs" before, but I suppose you could BBQ them up the same way you do baby backs.

Upon further review...the split ribs are rib tips from the spares. So, 99 cents a pound is just average. Good eatin' though.
