Had some friends coming over tonight for dinner and hanging out (mostly to let the kids run around and burn off some pent up spring break energy). Wanted to give them a taste of St. Louis so did up some pork steaks and a creation we call "dem taters".
Seasoning the pork steaks with soy sauce and SPOG (minus the salt).
All ready to go on the grill with Sweet Baby Rays and brew on hand.
Gettin' dem taters ready for the oven. Mandonline slice washed but not peeled potatoes (don't know how many...just fill the pan up) and one full vidalia onion into cooking dish. Add package of kielbasa sausage - sliced into 1/4in pieces. Add enough margarine to cover potatoes and onions and seasoning to taste (we use pepper, garlic, onion powder and seasoning salt). Get your hands in there and mix everything up real good. Might want to add more seasoning as you mix to make sure it gets throughout all the potatoes. You want to use enough margarine to keep the stuff at the bottom of the dish from sticking. Cover with foil and cook at 400 for 1 hour. Nobody said they were healthy...just dang good!!
Pork steaks on!! On gas tonight since we were under a bit of a time crunch. Low heat 5 minutes a side for 20 minutes.
Slop on the sauce (Sweet Baby Rays - need to get some Maull's to make it a true taste of St. Louis). Five minutes on each side with the sauce on.
Dem taters are finished!! Mix them up to get everything nice and gooey.
Ready for consumption!!
Great meal was had by all. Thanks for taking a peak.
