Love smoked chex mix it can be hit it miss, I found just the slightest mist of water with a little seasoning salt produces more hits than misses

Not sure if this is allowed here but did you just cover your water pan with foil or is it filled with something and is it correct position? It looks closer to the top grate in the pic.

almost anything goes...
if you're talking about this ▼ photo.... yes, I foiled the top to catch drippings and yes, it's in the "correct position".

Thanks I was going to try not using water in the pan because clean up stinks. Did you use sand or another filler?

Nice pork and Chex mix. I make a lot of CM around the holidays, never thought of smoking it. Might have to give it a try.
