Pork bottom

Has anyone heard of Pork bottom tri tip? I seen it at the store today and was wondering where this cut of meat come's from lol

I'm a retired meatcutter form San Jose, CA. and I have never heard of this cut. I would have like to seen this. was it boneless, how much did it weigh. I would ask what part of the animal it comes from. Sounds like this guy is being creative with his labeling to get an extra $ for the cut.

I've been seeing 'pork tri-tip' advertised lately by San Jose, CA area grocers. Been wondering the same too....

It's just the rear end of the loin (sirloin) cut from below the bones (bottom).

James, in beef it comes from the bottom or end of the sirloin would imagine the same in pork.
