I bought a Thermor, same as the Maverick except the name, at a kitchen store on Lakeshore Road in downtown Oakville. it was around $80.00
I have used it about 25 times no problems!

You can use the probe for both.
I purchased a Weber thermometer and put in one of the vent holes on the lid and use the probe for the meat.
High/low alrm is for high or low meat temp(fire to hot or to cold)
