Mandolin recommendation

The general rule is quite simple, do not operate any sharp tools when you are under influence of anything.
If you do that, it's your own fault when something goes wrong. Simple as that.
Cut first, then drink/smoke/whatever. Simple rule.

Correct Geir....I never said it wasn't my fault.

I bought a Bron made in France and it works well. I also bought a pair of cutting gloves that are rated at cut level 5 just in case.

OXO mandolin user here.
I always used to whince, & head for the first-aid box, every time MrsTUK broke out the mandolin. (She is such a klutz)! And she has been "tickled" a couple of times. Not badly though.
I myslef was always good for a skinned knuckle or two using a cheese grater. Invest in a cut resistant glove, & shred/grate with abandon.

Oh yeah, a dull knife is way more deadly than a sharp one!

OXO Good Grips here. After I bought it and used it once, I through the other cheapies right in the trash. I bought mine for the wife to slice cucumbers for making bread & butter pickles. I couldn't take it away from her now.
