Just a slight correction to Larry's recipe: In his recipe "Jack Daniels/Maple Syrup brine" he says to use 1 cup 'bourbon'. Just to be clear -- Jack Daniel's is not 'bourbon'. Jack Daniel's is Tennessee whiskey. I live about 45 min south of the Jack Daniel's distillery and just a bit further from the George Dickel distillery. The folks who make Jack Daniels and George Dickel make a clear distinction between them and bourbon as do the many fine folks who make bourbon. As a Maker's Mark Ambassador I feel it is my duty to point out they are difference. cheers!
