Guest Chef in my Kitchen = Carne Asada

We've had friends staying with us for about a week. On one of the last nights, they went shopping, and told me to just warm up the grill....they'd cover the rest. I had to document the cook, but all I did was take pictures. He did everything on the Spirit, and I told him this would all be shared with the forum. He signed all proper releases. Ha.

Veggies all put together, seasoned and ready for the grill.

Skirt steak bought from Trader Joes. It comes pre-seasoned, but whatever they used was spot on.

No action shot...didn't want to be hovering over the man's shoulder while he made us dinner. Finished skirt steak starting to go into the serving dish and veggies done.

It was a nice treat to watch the work, and just enjoy the flavor.
 
Very nice job look's delicious. Always nice once in a while to have someone else do the cooking.

I wasn't there at purchase, but they chose 3 pieces (cause they didn't want to come up short). 2 pieces were delicious and perfectly tender. The third had a membrane or fat cap along it that made it kinda chewy. We realized it along the prep/cook but not much to do at that point besides removing as much as possible. The seasoning was spot on, and the quality of the meat was very good.
