Yes, I scabbed in a piece of 304 stainless steel that was the front panel of a dishwasher. I used it because it already had a nice 90 degree bend that covers the top part where the grates rest.

Anyway theres my grill I think I am finally going to tear into her this week since I had to give up my silver b to the mother in law the other day and I am down to just my 1000

SO the firebox has a 25 year warranty what about the lid? AS you can see theres some discoloration that I don't think I can get clean

I am pretty sure I am going to tear this thing down to the frame and not halfa$$ it this is more grill than I could ever afford so even if I have to spend $200 it will be worth it

Theres one on CL right now with out the side burner asking 525

I don't think they will do anything about the lid simply due to discoloration. Now, if the inner liner of the lid is corroded, that's a different story :). The lower cook box should be under warranty so if it's corroded, I'd check and see what Weber will do.
 
Well she's alive!

For what little rust there was on my front panel I just brushed it real good hit it with some jasco rust treatment and put several coats of high heat BBQ paint on

Cleaned up the floor of the cart and gave the same rust treatment then painted

Replaced the starter switch and all the starters with parts from grill parts

And just cleaned as best I could.

Flavor bars will need some love in a few seasons but I'll be fine for now.

Off to the next adventure picking up a performer tomorrow!!

Looks like you made out VERY well. Now perhaps you might need to go to "confession"? Penance might end up with the priest inviting himself over for steaks LOL
 
SO after mama finding out about the performer now something has to go! Thought the diamond necklace she got for her birthday would buy me some slack somewhere but negative!

SO I think I am going to unload the summit. We all know what I have in it but what could I realistically expect to sell it for? Don't see many on CL. This one isn't perfect but its complete and clean and totally functional.
