my only shot (so far) of going to Franklin BBQ was in 2006 (in Corpus Christi via San Antonio), however, no Franklin BBQ in 2006
 
Very nice! I've told Pammi that we need to ditch the family vacations and just do a Texas BBQ road trip! :cool:
 
The book looks awesome. It's not your typical bbq book. He goes into building smokers, wood selection, etc. As far as the waiting in line, there are plenty of places that are almost that good with a lot less wait in the area. But it's worth doing once to check out a place with a real commitment to excellence. The line is actually pretty fun. People were cool. On days like Tuesday and Wednesday the line isn't as bad but on Saturday the have beef RIBS!
 
Yes lots of great que in Texas
but there is something to be said for the group experience at Franklin
Going with a group of 4 or more would be lots of fun
or you can just start talking and find 10 new friends
