Bruised Ribs??

Was prepping one of my racks of BB's and noticed discoloration and an odd texture to a small section of the rack. It looks like it is bruised, but I haven't come across this before and wondered if anyone else can confirm. They are Farmland brand from Costco which I have had several times and are always top notch.

My last package of ribs had that same thing. I just cut it out. Probably safe to eat, but once I get to preparing meat, I can't let something like that stay.
 
I have had places like that in ribs and roast also, most likely bruising. I just take a paper towel and dry the extra blood and let it go. I find that the meat is fine after cooked.
