Best Sauce for Brisket... homemade or store bought?

If I'm not mistaken you're in a region where BBQ means pork and sweet sauces, so you will likely have guests that are accustomed to a sweet sauce.
I would offer 2 sauces on the side....a thin, non-sweet sauce for the brave and a traditional sweet sauce.
I just posted a beef marinade that is in-between those two categories and can be used for dipping.

Well Northern Virginia is not our Grand Dad's VA. This place has changed a lot. Now if you were to go a few hours south into Charlottesville and place much closer to the Carolina Border Perhaps. But sadly here where I live most people equate bbq with burgers and hot dogs.

I've made Meathead's mop sauce a number of times, however, just for dipping, as I never mop. I really like the taste as a dipping sauce. I did add some chipotle powder to it, though.

I usually don't sauce brisket, but when I have friends over, I have Stubb's regular and Stubb's Spicy on the side if they want. I usually don't see much being used...
