Beercation 2022

This year’s annual family reunion was held at the KOA just west of St. Louis. Pammi and I took our camper out there and everyone else stayed at a cabin stumbling distance away from our campsite.
I got most of the cooks captured, which was pretty amazing considering it was beercation!
Breakfast on the first morning was cooked on the Blackstone. The griddle actually saw a lot of service last week!5608BA0C-7E68-496D-8622-97D5F9F11717.jpeg
Lunch was burgers, also on the griddle, and dinner was chicken and corn on it

Wednesday’s breakfast was French toast and sausage, and we went to the aquarium that afternoon. It was very cool!

I brought our pizza oven with us but the sucker wouldn’t stay lit, so the griddle got called into service yet again!
It would have been better with some sort of dome, but it still came out pretty well

Thursday, Pammi made some biscuits and gravy! Bacon instead of sausage, but dang tasty!

I had to grill something, so we had chicken sandwiches on the JJDCA6923D-790C-4917-91A7-761561D34BE0.jpegB0187229-32D5-4D81-B657-AF9BA36F2F54.jpeg
After the meal, I brought out my WSM! Yes, it comes on beercation with us! I put an 8 pound butt, seasoned with Weber’s Classic BBQ rub

Phil, I have come to look forward to your family reunions even if I am not family and don’t get an invite. Seeing you enjoying the cooking and eating of the food along with sharing it with your family just seems right. Keep it up! 🙂

I'd say you have a very blessed family to have you and your Pammi as chefs. But I imagine you also feel quite blessed to be in the company of your family. Thanks for sharing this!

Phil, this is awesome!

Have you noticed your sister's pose in that last shot? Cracked me up...check out her finger. Reminds me of me and my brothers.

Glad you had a great trip. I love that Keith Richards' quote!
