I saw this at Wally World today, I think it was $19.xx
Haven't been able to find it on the WM website.
It's $31.83 on Amazon!
A snake/fuse variation, looks pretty neat in the video.
Might need some holes drilled for air flow, the metal is fairly thin.
Opinions?

I saw that a week or so ago at WW, was wondering if it would fit the mini, but of course I didn't get a chance to measure it. Barb dragged me away muttering something about another gadget I don't need.

Thanks Bob, now I'll have to keep him out of WW or I'll fine it in the back yard. Going to have to get a bigger back yard if this keeps up. We went looking at garage sales yesterday and guess what, he found another Weber and all I did was give him the LOOK!!!;)

Since I was in the area today I stopped in to check this thing out again.
I was thinking maybe it could be foil wrapped and used as a heat shield on the 14.5" replacing the water pan, giving more room to pile up coals.
The one I looked at before seemed pretty thin and dull, but the others there looked like SS and were heavier, so I bought one.

I tried it and it pretty much rests where the bottom grate sits and leaves little room around the edge.
So I put it on the charcoal grate for fit.
There it kind of blocks the vents, but might work well for reducing the heat for some things.

Might use it on the 18" WSM, or 22" kettle.
I will find some uses for it!
Oh, and the price was $16.84, not $19 like I thought.

yeah, have an opinion on that thing too. :(

Bob, making your own snake/fuse/"charcoal manager" takes all but 3 minutes with 1 hand.....

my opinion, because i know you want to know:
spend the dang 20 bucks on Evan Williams!

can you find that smokekettle pan in this photo? (photo taken 1 minute ago)

Jim,
When you're 69 years old 3 minutes of your life is precious, you young whippersnapper.
and my hands stayed clean.
and it was 16 bucks, so there. :p
and a Smokettle pan works great under the 14.5" WSM.
