question about swapping hoods

So are the hoods pretty much interchangeable on the genesis 1000 on up through what like the silver b?

Without looking too deep my guess is they could be swapped around. Lets say you had a 13 flavor bar 1000 but didn't like the hood could you run a newer one if you desired?

I pulled up the hood for a Genesis 1000LX on ereplacmentparts.com. the attached link shows what they say is compatible and it looks like the Silver B & C are.

I don't think so as the older grill is actually a tiny bit larger

Check with Jrobes he has an older and newer Genesis maybe he could measure or try a swap to see.

They are interchangeable. I have a 1980's Genesis I and a 2001 Silver C and the lids are the same dimensions. The 13 flavorizer bar cookbox is deeper on the Genny I-V and 1000-5000 than the 5 flavorizer bar Silver/Golds.
