Did Chris Lilly's Pork shoulder recipe with a shot of bourbon in the injection.

18.5 WSM
8lb bone in pork butt
Hickory and Apple chunks
Temp: 225-235
Total 13 hours
*no wrapping with foil or anything just let it smoke without bothering it :)

Looks great.

I have one in my WSM right now that has been cooking overnight.
If it looks as good as yours does when I break it up I will be happy.
I used some apricot, hickory, and oak for this cook.
My temp was 237 1/2 hour ago, but I put a fattie in there and the temp jumped up to 260.
The butt is sitting at 190 so it still has a way to go before it gets tender.

Outstanding first butt cook, I'm sure you will be do more. It looks mighty tasty from the pic.

Great looking shoulder!!! I use the same injection and think I may add a shot of bourbon to my next cook as well!!!

IVuong,

Looks great! Always love seeing success on the first attempt. You're probably hooked now!

Great first run! By the looks of it, you'll enjoy it enough to be at it again soon.
