Plow Disk on the Jumbo Joe Premium

I've used this as the ceiling for my Kettle Pizza and have been waiting for the chance to cook some food in it. It was amazing, that's all I can say...

Setting up the Jumbo Joe Premium for the disk, I had to use a grate out of my smokey joe because the grate that comes in the Jumbo Joe Premium put the charcoal baskets too high

Chicken on (should have put the mushrooms on too)

Chuck Jr (bubba) taking over for dad (that's what happens when you're having a good time) wait a minute....is he drinking my beer.....

The lesson learned. As soon as the food is out of the disk, get the disk off the heat. Damage was minimal, but it could have been as easy as wiping it with a paper towel

Good photos and I like the idea of using the plow disc on the Smokey Joe.

BTW, what is wrong with leaving the disc on the grill?

Fantastic looking stir fry, Chuck! BTW, How do you like your plow disk? I got one for Xmas, and it's still sitting in the box it came in, same with the Paella Pan, Vortex and Pizza Oven. Life kinda got in the way, these past several months, hopefully since spring has sprung, I can get back to outdoor cooking.

As soon as all the food was off the disk, it went super nova heat and now I got a bunch of grillies I gotta get off of it (cast iron can give you head aches) LOL

Mine is an official member of the family, that's how much I like it, LOL

You'll love yours, you're pretty familiar with cast iron cooking, so take all those precautions and you'll be good to go. I used mine as a ceiling for my Kettle Pizza, it worked amazingly. I would say that the cast iron disk combined with the kettle pizza is the only way to go when using the kettle pizza
