    Preserving wood handles.

I've had good luck with tung oil. I sanded off the old crud with a scotch pad, then rubbed in several coats of tung oil. Did this a 4ish years ago, and it is certainly time for a touch up. Kevin H.

yeah, I have 2 (one for lump, one for K). I hate that they're like $14 each...but they do a nice job. Kevin H.

    Vacum Sealer Bags

Also, try this website: Doug Care Equipment. I've been using their bags for a little over a year now (someone here on the board recommended them, previously) and they've performed just fine. I will say that the plastic is a little thinner than FoodSaver's and they don't really like boiling...

    thinking about getting...........

Please forgo the Electric sharpener and get the Apex--your knives will thank you. As Dann said, there is a little bit of a learning curve--but you really cannot hurt anything (unless you are using the Coarse stone)--if you trash the edge, you just gain more practice in getting the edge back :-)...

    Stainless Cooking Grates

To elaborate on George's post: It seems like the Stainless Grates are only available in the 22.5" size. The only source I know of is Weber Customer Service. And the SS grates are great! Kevin H.

    Q -Ignition systems

I'm with you Ron, I don't see the advantage of a more complicated system. Considering I hit the Piezo 2 times--at most--to light the grill; I don't see the 'push button' being much of a 'labor savings' :-) The new button does look 'neat', however Kevin H.

    20lb versus 1lb tanks

I think it is the length of the hose that amplifies the problem for those of us that use the Q. The 12"-18" hose most 'regular' (and of course, inferior) grills use doesn't hold as much gas (equalizes quicker) than the 4'-6' hose we all use with the Q. As George stated, it is really the tank's...

    Recommendations re: Grill Gloves/Mitts?

I too, use Welding Gloves (I like dexterity). Picked out a comfortable pair @ a local supply house. Cost less than $10. Kevin H.

    Reynold's Handi-Vac

Pat, Same thing happened to me--found out when I sent the wife to Walmart to score some bags to put up six-butts-worth of pulled pork. She came home with the Zip-Loc bags, and we gave them a go. I have been disappointed in the Zip-Loc's. Everything went fine on the front end, but as we are...

Wow, Jeff, I'm jealous! Great looking grill. I see, the dog moved inside since you now live in the dog house? Kevin H.

    Who need's a cambro? A better substitute?

Yes, and it is great. Got mine from BJ's Wholesale Club (I'm not a member, didn't matter). This taller one lives in the car for trips to the grocery store (gallons of milk fit just right w/ the extra height) Kevin H.

Proud owner of Q300 with couple questions

Nice score! I don't have a Q300 or the Genesis, so I can't shed much light on the comparison there...but I think that I would miss the portability of the Q200 when camping. The space solution is simple--build a bigger patio! Kevin H.
