    Questions for discada owners

I agree that while you can cook burgers and steaks on it, it's really not all that flat. I guess one good way to look at it is the grease will drain away from the burgers. As for a dome for pizza, i dont see why not however you may lose that seasoning that you worked hard to buildup due to the...

Used 18.5" WSM for sale in MA-$40

I just dont have the use for 2 WSM's so i'm looking to get rid of one of them. It's been my stand-by for years so it's seen a sheltered life. It's been used so it has a few minor dings and scratches plus some surface rust on the grates but other wise it has years of life left in it. I can...

FS: Offset oil tank smoker Mass

SOLD!!! The time has come for me to sell my offset due to a lack of space to keep and it not using it much any more. As you can see it's made out of an old 275 gallon oil tank. The firebox is 24" square made out of 1/4" steel plate and firebrick lined on the bottom. The temps are pretty stable...

    Thermometer Tear Down

I'm sure it's just crimped together so you'd need to cut it apart using something like a dremel with a cut-off wheel.

    Wal Mart Meat?

I used to buy briskets from walmart, since it was convenient, but after trying to figure out what i was doing wrong, it turned out it was the beef not the cook. They always came out tough and dry, even foiling, changing temps, marinating, etc. Now i get them from a local store and they're much...

    Expanding my arsenal

It was a good amount of work, especially since the cooking chamber is an old oil tank i got from a friend and of course i was extremely careful when cleaning it out, which took the most time. I think it took about 6-8 cleaning w/solvents & then hot water and dish detergent to finally get all the...

    Expanding my arsenal

I'd think a keg is too small, very doable but i'd rather put efforts towards a larger smoker for big parties. I made this over the winter. Hopefully the pic works. http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2749769880103632089obqXmi

    Temp for sliced pork shoulder....

At what internal temp should i pull them for sliced pork?? I've seen all temps from 160-190. I'll be making pernil for some cuban sandwiches this weekend, which looks pretty damn tasty. And i'm gonna try to make some cracklins since i'm removing the skin so we'll see how that goes.

    How many ABT's will fit??

Just an FYI, about 120+/- will fit with a 3rd grate rigged up. I had to put the rest on the grill since the ECB had chicken on it. I've never tried a different cheese although many people do say they come out very good with other types of cheeses. As for the pulled pork, i really think it can be...

    How many ABT's will fit??

Thanks guys. I've been double guessing myself on the number i was going to do and i think i'm going to have to up the number. I gotta find another rack to stack in the WSM to increase space. I do have my homemade BBQ pit i made out of an oil tank but i'm trying to avoid hauling that down to...

    How many ABT's will fit??

I have a 4th of July party coming up and i'm trying to figure things out. So how many ABT's do you think i can fit on each rack of the WSM? Also, how many chicken thighs do you think would fit on a rack? I'm thinking maybe 20 thighs? I know i can't fit everything in the WSM in 1 shot so i'm...

Couple of questions about a Silver B

Thanks for the info. I cooked up some nice tenderloin steaks on it last weekend and did a great job. Like i said this is the first Weber grill i've had, got a WSM, but this is soo far better than any other grill i can see why people become faithful Weber fans. I already got a rotisserie for it...

Couple of questions about a Silver B

I happened upon a Silver B grill at the dump one day and since it was in pretty good condition i figured i'd replace a few parts and have myself a nice grill. I had to make a new stand for it since it didn't have one to begin with but the end product came out nice. I finally got around to firing...

    Hamburger recipes

Found this a few years back and tried it once, they were good just a pain to make but provides a different burger. They also have a tendancy to fall apart when trying to turn so be careful. Adjust as necessary: Gut Buster Hambergers (12-14 burgers) I don't measure, just a bit of this and a...
