Interesting find: Raspberry PiJuice Battery Pack Kickstarter

Hi guys, I ran across this post on TechCrunch with information about this kickstarter. It looks to me like it could be a cool add-on for the HeaterMeter. If it would work, and you guys know better than I do, it would eliminate the "trip wire" sittuation I know a few of us face with the HM...

How do you set alarms - sorry for the newb question but I can't seem to figure it out

Hi guys, I currently want to be cooking at 250° and want to be alerted whenever the temp drops below 225° or goes above 275°. The alarm notifications are all set up fine but I can't figure out the proper threshold / setpoint settings or why it never seems to alert. (Test alarms work fine)...

My new build RPi A+ / 4-Line Display complete!

Yes it's an A+ Pi, the rest of the info will have to come from Kohn Bostwick as he did most of the heavy lifting on the build.

Change/Add Port the Heater Meter is listening on....

I'm not sure I understand this. When I edited my port settings I used Terminal and accessed the HM via SSH entering the code referenced in the first post. Is there something I need to go back and fix? Thanks!

Thanks Bryan! So the stash doesn't allow you to pull up the same graph / info as when it was live?

First cook complete! Now I have two questions re: saving cooks and alarms to 2 people

Hi guys, The heatermeter was a gift for my brother. He and I did our first cook this weekend after making several modifications to our smoker (will post that thread when I have a chance to take pics). He was super impressed as was I, such a great device. Thanks to all who have forged the path...

If you already have your HeaterMeter set up on your home network and port forwarding set up so that your router directs traffic appropriately then yes!

Change/Add Port the Heater Meter is listening on....

Hi guys, forgot to post back here as a follow up to my post. Steve is correct, if you simply follow Ralph's instructions in the first post and add an S at the end of http, it works the same way. That said, Ralph, I believe there is an error in your first code section. I believe it should be as...

My new build RPi A+ / 4-Line Display complete!

Exactly, I was just fighting my router, should be able to get it up and running tonight I hope! Is it wrong that I'm excited to watch graphs of my apartment temperature from work tomorrow...for no reason

Has anyone mounted a HeaterMeter to an offset smoker?

Correct, diameter. I don't think the top hole will be as effective due to the fire being at the bottom of the box and agree with you that tubing bent to 90 degrees might be a good way to go. Being a soft metal, do you think copper will withstand the temperature in the firebox? I'll play...

My new build RPi A+ / 4-Line Display complete!

Hi guys, I contacted John Bostwick a few weeks ago about building a 4.2.4 HM for me. I expressed my interest in the project along with my concern regarding my inexperience with soldering on printed circuit boards. John was kind enough to invite me into his home and give me some lessons...
