Baked Beans

I'm on the Northern East coast, i have a favorite BBQ joint that I drive 3 hours to at least once a year. He's a replanted Carolinian (Bears BBQ, Conn.) He has the best baked beans I have ever had. No idea how he makes them. Just the right heat and I detect a touch of cumin. I'm looking for a...

    Tribute to Tony R

So many of you seem to cook every day, and Tony seems to be the "Bar" setter. So Even though it's a bit colder here in the Northeast I felt I needed to suck it up and do a smoke. Weather here can get depressing for sure. So I decided to do a Smoke day. Brined some Chicken halve's for Cornell...

    26.5 Owners ???

How do you like this size grill? Overkill? I do a few big cookouts each summer and really was thinking of getting one. I've never really seen them for sale used around this area. So I will most likely buy new. Just wondering what kind of cooks you do on your 26's. Thank you, Al

    Craglist Q

I picked up a Q tonight. Came with the rolling cart and a gray weber cover. Owner said it stopped working when he changed over the tank. He wanted $50.00 I said since it does not work I'd take a chance on it and offered him $25.00 and he took it. So where do I start on this, I'm not even sure...

    Ideas for xmas Ham

I want to smoke a ham for Christmas day, any ideas? Should I start with a Picnic Ham. I usually do a recipe from Tyler Flourence. You cut out the bone, and make a spinach, sourdough stuffing. You book the ham and stuff it roll back up and tie, then cook. What all do you experts do?

old weber kettle whats it worth?

I found an old weber kettle on a metal cart. It looks like wrought iron, has a mesh bottom, wood block on top and a tray the width of cart close to the cart handles. Looks like its a greenish color cart and the kettle looks dark in color. Any ideas what it would be valued at?

    Ash bucket

I just picked up a 22 inch older daisy wheel kettle, I have seen in some post's the use of a galvanized pail instead of the ash tray. This old ash tray needs to be replaced. I'd rather use a pail. Question is.... what do you use to hold it on? Thanks, Al

My one day Genesis Silver B 2003 overhaul

I asked on a thread here a few weeks ago how many charcoal heads do have "Gassers" and what you use them for. I gave away my gas grill back in 1998 when I bought my performer. I went and looked at the new Genesis and they are sweet and expensive. I decided if Lowes ran an 18 month no interest...

    Vacation......monsoon.....

I have been on vacation for a week, was not able to get a lot of outside chores done as we have had bad rains here in upstate NY for 3 weeks. Go figure, one side of the country is on fire and the other is flooding peoples home out every three days. I was fine as I'm up on a hill, so the rain did...

    Friday Pizza Night

Still dialing in my 18 OTS PizzaKettle. The fire bricks worked ok, the lower lid height on the 18 really keeps the heat where it's needed. Now the top is cooking faster than the bottom. Going to try a 3/4 inch stone and I think that will perfect it..... [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG]

    1st cook overload

I had a plan and stuck to it! Started with 2 pork butts, added Dwain's "wicked beans" in the last few hours of the butt smoke. Pulled the butts foiled and wrapped them like a newborn and put in a cooler. Pulled the water pan and reset for "Cornell Chicken" and ABT's. I documented everything and...
