    Bought a bargain Baby!

My Q320 is great but really is too big when I'm only cooking five sausages so I was on the lookout for a smaller Q on eBay. I have just got lucky for once - bought a Baby Q for only £0.99 - yes, less than one GBP!!! It even came with the Weber cover - what a deal! It's in need of a good wash...

    Weber cover with Q

And this is our British summer! We have just had 11 days solid rain and cold. My Q has been sadly neglected - hopefully weather will improve this weekend and I can practice my barbecuing skills further.

    Weber cover with Q

Do you guys in sunnier climes use the cover for your Q? My Q is getting very wet under the cover. I rang WeberUK and was told that the cover is not waterproof but it's function is to keep the dirt out. To my mind, the cover is only serving to trap moisture in! Is it worth using????

    Solid griddle?

    Thanks yet again Phil. Susie.

    Solid griddle?

I can't find a teflon sheet in the UK that is rated for use higher than 260C. They do say that it can be used on a barbecue but not over a flame. Do you guys think that this will be safe enough on the Q? I don't mind wasting the money on the sheet BUT I would hate to spoil my new Q.

New to forum, to Q and burning everything!!

Sausages cooked to perfection this evening. Yes, using only the inner burner I can get the temperature to just below 300F. Another question, should it take a lot of clicks of the ignition before the Q lights? I am used to my gas stove which lights with one click, the barbecue needs the...

What can I say Captain? Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is like having my personal, on line tutor!! I cooked the chicken and, here is the proof that I am improving. I have to admit that although I did test the meat with a thermometer, I still wasn't convinced that it was cooked...

Thanks Ken, now, that looks good enough to eat! I have the Weber roasting rack but would never have thought to put the foil underneath. The timing and temperature will be a big help too.

OK, I practised on some chicken thighs, the steaks I just did were a big improvement - not good enough for a photo but not burned either! Thanks so much everyone for all your advice. Tomorrow I am getting really brave and attempting a whole chicken! Watch this space.

    Solid griddle?

Thanks Captain, you've convinced me and you have just saved me £50!! The Q320, over here, comes with the grid in two halves and you can purchase a half griddle but they don't come cheap! There is a roasting trivet and a warming rack included. Is the teflon sheet you use the flexible...

WOW!! Thank you 'Captain Cook'. Straight away I can see why I am still getting black sear marks on the meat - it's the olive oil that I've been using!! I thought that the preheatingwas making the griddle far too hot but, I daren't miss this bit out in case I poisoned the family in addition to...

    England Q

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by James M-B: It may be real but it's also probably photoshopped. (!) Looking closely you can see the US style cartridge holder rather than the UK gas...

    Solid griddle?

Do you guys think that the solid griddle to replace half the grid on the Q320 is a good idea? My neighbour tells me that he uses the solid one all the time and only moves onto the grid to get the sear marks. Stainless steel tongs a spatula, brass bristle brush, possibly a griddle and all my...

Thanks guys.I'll take your advice on board. Too cold, wet and windy to barbecue here tonight, so I guess it will be a curry. Fingers crossed tomorrow brings the sun again.

Australian Gas Regulator to UK Gas Regulator on Q100 - Baby Q

You could ask Weber UK. http://www.weberbbq.co.uk/Support-1.aspx If you are using propane, the red Calor bottles contain exactly the same as the green patio gas but are much cheaper. I bought a regulator for the red bottle, chopped the original off the end of the gas pipe and inserted the new...
