    Genesis Jr. find

I'm pretty much a charcoal guy thru and thru but have always loved the design of the Genesis Junior to bad Weber doesn't make much in replacement parts anymore especially the burner tube setup. So needless to say finding one today in decent shape is really hard. I saw an ad on Chicago CL on...

How do you collect turkey drippings?

I do my turkeys on a vertical rack in my WSM's then place the racked bird in a 9x9 cake pan to catch the drippings. I usually do them in my 14.5 on the lower rack. Biggest I've done in there is about a 14lb. bird. They have always turned out great and I get plenty of drippings for gravy.

This was taken last Saturday morning, about 20* outside. Bringing the 14.5 up to temp for a 8.5# butt. Check out the ghostly figure rising out of the vent.

It's the same principle as a Santa Maria attachment. The coal grate lowers to about 1 inch above the normal charcoal grate position...

    Weber Barbecue Grill

I agree, the performer is the way to go. The large table and gas assist are both useful as well as the under table storage. If the cost is a problem, check out Craigslist, OfferUp, or LetGo. There always seems to be many great deals on performers on those sights.

Use your mini or get yourself a 14.5. both are GREAT on charcoal and you can do 2 on each if you so desire. I'd NEVER fire up my 22 for 1 butt, butt that's just me. drink a little drink, Smoke a little smoke :wsm:
