    Fan amp circuit

This request is a little bit off the reservation but someone here can maybe help my long forgotten analog circuit skills. In the HM, the fan blower output voltage is generated by rapidly switching the BS170 off and on which drives the Q3 power mosfet. I'm looking for a slightly different...

    Library for Eagle 6.x?

Bryan, Can you post your Eagle 6.x library in the github somewhere? I'd like to be able to pull out the same jacks, RJ45, etc on a little accessory board I'm tinkering with? Thanks!

    Station keeping PWM servo pulse?

Yeah, I threw a red herring in the pond. Bad form on my part to be referencing code snippets that I in fact was not running! I'm sure the servo debate was lively. From an R/C perspective you absolutely want the servo to resist change in angle (think airfoil surfaces!) and that is exactly what...

    Station keeping PWM servo pulse?

Yep, it was old HM firmware. Updated everything and then the signal started coming out as a constant. Was going to post my image but my Hantek is being fussy about writing the screen shots out to USB. That problem is solved now. The code made it look as if the PWM signal was always running but...

    Station keeping PWM servo pulse?

Yes, my HM code is a bit old. Let me update my LM image and have it push a new HM image to the AVR. That is probably the source of the issue. Will update once that is done.

    Station keeping PWM servo pulse?

Was that in manual mode? I guess it shouldn't matter. Was this just HM or was LM hooked up? Trying to make sure my experiment is the same. Can you think if anything else I should verify as to why I am not seeing a steady state signal on PB0?

    Station keeping PWM servo pulse?

Hmmm...well. Then I guess I need to learn more about setting the trigger on the scope, because I cannot see a constant signal on PB0. But I can easily capture the signal when servo is moving. Makes me wonder.... I went back again and tested on PB0, before the Q5 switch. The PWM signal only...

    Station keeping PWM servo pulse?

I asked a bit of an assumptive question. I will attempt to be more clear this time. If I hook PB0 (PIN 14) to a scope would I expect to see a PWM signal all of the time or only when the servo is moving? Thanks!

    Station keeping PWM servo pulse?

Bryan, Are you using a station keeping type pulse on the servo PWM? I see the SERVO_HOLD_SECS but if I understand your code it is just to keep the PWM signal active long enough for the servo to settle. I was capturing the PB0 on my o'scope and see no signals between moves. However I might have...

    Thermocouple problems during first cook

All good feedback. I've just got to get used to where and how I place the TC so I get the HM to control the grill to the temp I need it. This thread started because I didn't get my pork to the temp I needed because I didn't understand how it would work. A key point that Ralph pointed out, I'm...

    Thermocouple problems during first cook

Thanks for all of the replies. I guess I just have to learn to place and trust the TC. I will occasionally experiment and see if there is any further tuning that needs to be done. In response to some earlier comments: 1) The TC and thermistor were over diffusion plates and not likely affected...

Auber Instruments Blower with HeaterMeter Servo Controlled Damper

If you have a hobby/RC store I'll bet you can get a servo horn that will do what you need for cheap.

DIY Homemade smoker - hinge and assembly question

You might want to read this thread and contact the guy that sells replacement gaskets for Primo grills. I'll bet it would work great for your application. http://primogrillforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=712

    Thermocouple problems during first cook

OK, I tried this again on a simpler cook with my new Auber instruments K-type TC. First I put the probes as close together as possible and away from the edge of the D plate. As seen here: Lit everything up and let it stabilize. The TC ran consistently about 10deg above the iGrill TM probe...

Brand New Damper Design - "The Micro Damper"

Good advice. It gets very little heat down there but something to watch for. My goal would be to see if Primo will sell me just the little slider door that I can then put a hole into. At the time I had 2 issues. 1) no door 2) no step drill bit to put a hole in it. (not buying a $45 bit for one...
