If your temperature starts dropping, the fan is supposed to kick in. Since it takes a few seconds for the temperature to drop past the open lid threshold, the fan will turn on for those few seconds until it goes past the threshold, then the HM goes into open lid mode and the fan turns off.

I have to admit that being able to manually trigger the open lid mode completely slipped my mind... seems like the obvious solution. I'll do that in the future.

I had the same thing happen to me with my A+, though in hindsight I should have noticed when it took unusual pressure to push the Edimax in. I was able to use a small pick to pull the pin forward and bend it back into shape though.
