Vince, Stay Thirsty my Friend is right! that looks great, I'd like to try that. what is the mixture in the sauce?
Thanks!

Vince does the cedar need to be soaked before cooking? If so how long. I have a piece I need to find my dad made me and try this. Thanks for sharing.

Yes. Soak it in a cookie pan. Put a can on top of it to force it under the water. Do it for an hour or two. Then preheat your grill. Sear one side of the plank until it smokes. Don't let it burn tho. Once it smokes flip it and put the fish on. Then I move the fish to medium / indirect heat for abt 30 minutes. Fish needs to be abt 150 degrees. Keep a spray bottle handy in case the plank gets on fire.

Make sure the plank that you're using hasn't been treated with any chemicals. Good luck!

That's interesting. When I plank my (insert foodstuff), I don't flip the wood. I keep the smoldering side down. When you flip yer wood, does it keep smokin' for 30 minutes?

I try not to watch it. But it makes sense tho. The smoking wood is right under the fish instead of on the bottom. Who knows tho.

I don't flip the board either. I'll weigh the plank down and soak for a few hours in the sink and then cook, and serve the salmon on the board.
My wife enjoys the cedar planks so much, we ended up finding an on line reources and bought them in bulk. I see some places offer alder and maple planks as well. Has anyone tried these?
