What do/should you make from scratch?

+1 on the tomato sauces. The next time tomatoes come into season, I am going to buy 100+ lbs (I found a seller), and make epic batches of tomato sauce.
Cento brand in a can are a clean product. Their tomato purée is made from, just tomatoes. Nothing else. And their San Marzano are excellent too.

I’m not saying don’t can your own, but there are simple products you can buy at retail that are very good and build from there.

Costco San Marzanos are excellent too.

Beans- kidney, black, pinto etc.

So good, nutritious and relatively inexpensive.

Never from a can.

And since we bought an instant pot, easy to make.

I might give these a shot. So far canned tomatoes have only yielded disappointment from me
